New Robin Hood Series Is the Hot Outlander Replacement Everyone’s Obsessed With

This Series Is Secretly Stealing Outlander Fans’ Hearts – And It’s Sitting at #1 With a Wild 77% on Rotten Tomatoes!

Move over, Jamie and Claire – there’s a new historical heartthrob in town, and viewers can’t stop bingeing.

Ever since Outlander first swept us away in 2014 with kilts, time travel, and the steamiest romance on television, fans have been hooked. The beloved series is finally wrapping up with its eighth and final season in 2026, leaving a massive highlander-shaped hole in our hearts.

But just when we thought nothing could fill it, MGM+ dropped a surprise bombshell: a brand-new Robin Hood series that feels like it was made in a lab to replace Outlander – and it’s absolutely dominating streaming right now.

Launched on November 12, Robin Hood instantly shot to the #1 spot on global streaming charts (according to FlixPatrol) and refuses to let go. It’s also crushing it in countries like Australia, where it’s one of the most-watched shows on Stan.

Critics are loving it too – the show is currently sitting pretty with a strong 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, and fans are already calling it “Outlander with bows and arrows.”

So what’s the official vibe? MGM+ teases:

“Follow Rob (Jack Patten), the fierce son of a Saxon forester, as he transforms into the legendary outlaw fighting for justice against ruthless Norman lords. Packed with palace intrigue, forbidden love, and epic battles, the series takes viewers from the muddy forests of Sherwood to the Vatican and the halls of Westminster. With a powerhouse cast and jaw-dropping historical detail, this is the bold, sexy, action-packed Robin Hood retelling we’ve all been waiting for.”

The romance at the center? A sizzling, class-divided love story between Rob and the fiery Maid Marianne (Lauren McQueen) that fans say hits the same emotional sweet spot as Claire and Jamie’s epic love – only this time with longbows instead of 18th-century Scotland.

The merry band is stacked too: Marcus Fraser as Little John, Angus Castle-Doughty as Brother Tuck, and – wait for it – Sean Bean as the ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham (because of course Sean Bean is here to make us cry again).

Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine herself is played by Connie Nielsen, while Lydia Peckham stars as the Sheriff’s daughter Priscilla, adding even more royal drama and forbidden tension.

New episodes drop every Sunday on MGM+, and trust us – once you start, you won’t be able to stop.

Outlander may be ending, but this Robin Hood just proved the age of swoony historical dramas is far from over. Have you started watching yet?
